The wallpaper collection “Populus” is based on art from cultures of ancient civilizations in Africa, Oceania, Asia, as well as in Americas. Rock carvings from the Inca civilization, from Peru, and Hathi motifs from India served as inspiration. Topics related to “Aboriginal” culture in Oceania or even to the Samburu tribes in Africa. The vegetation found in the ruins of the Mayan and Aztec civilizations also inspired the creation of motifs present in this collection. To complete this, plain and striped designs were introduced, which favored the creation of harmonious combinations.
